At the Boise Camera Club, the second Tuesday of each month is designated Print Night. Members are invited to submit printed photographs for judging. A three member panel will evaluate the photo in three areas: Composition, Impact, and Technical aspects, and score each photograph. The judging will be followed by a critique from an experienced photographer. Critiques and scoring help both beginner and experienced photographers grow and improve their photographic skills.
Print Night Submission Rules:
-Maximum of two (2) prints total can be submitted. They may be entered in any of the categories listed below.
-Photographers will submit their own images only.
-Photos must have a label on the back of the photo in the upper left hand corner with the following information: Maker's Name, Address, Phone, Print Title, Date (month/year), Club Name (Boise Camera Club), and indication to forward OR do not forward to inter-club competition designation.
-Photos must have the print category marked on the back of the photo in the upper center area.
-Small Color: Color photo between 5 x 7 and 8 x 12 (96 square inches).
-Large Color: Color photo between 8 x 12 and 16 x 20 inches.
-Small Monochrome: Varying shades of no more than one color; photo between 5 x 7 and 8 x 12 inches.
-Large Monochrome: Varying shades of no more than one color; photo between 8 x 12 and 16 x 20 inches.
-Creative Altered Reality (CAR): Photos with an obvious change in natural color, form, and/or shape - often a blending or composite; photo between 5 x 7 and 16 x 20 inches.
-Assigned Subject: Photo represents the assigned subject for the month; photo between 5 x 7 and 16 x 20 inches.

A three member panel will evaluate the photo on Composition, Impact, and Technical aspects and score each photograph. The judging will be followed by a critique from an experienced photographer. Critiques and scoring help both beginner and experienced photographers grow and improve their photographic skills.

Each month from November to May, the club sends top scoring images shown on projection night to the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs (4Cs) Electronic Image Division (EID) competition. Every other month from November to May, the club sends images to the Photographic Society of America (PSA) Projected Image Division (PID). Competing in these competitions helps members assess how they are doing compared to other clubs around the world. Visit the PSA or 4Cs page for more information.
Projection Night Submission Rules:
Images will be shown if they meet the following guidelines:
-Maximum of two images submitted
-Image must be in JPEG format -JPEG file size not to exceed 2 MB (2000 KB)
-Image WIDTH not to exceed 1920 pixels
-Image HEIGHT not to exceed 1200 pixels
-Image size cannot exceed 2 Megabytes
-Image must be saved in sRGB color space
-Image must be named according to the NAMING FORMAT (see below)
-Attach image(s) to an e-mail addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org
-Images must be received by 12:00 noon the Sunday before projection night (recommend sending images a few hours earlier)
Projection NAMING FORMAT
All images must use the following naming format: First NameLast NameRating*Name of ImageSpecial Designation** if anyJPG
Rating: Use a rating of 1 - 2; 1 being your most favorite, 2 being your least favorite.
Special Designation: Use "AS" to indicate the image is the assigned subject for the month. Use "NJ" to indicate "Do not judge this image".
Naming Format Examples: (tip: copy and paste format below into your image file name then change name, number, name of image)

If you do not care to have your images judged, simply mention it in your email.
